Chanticleer Community Theater Announces Auditions for
“A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE”
Auditions for Tennessee William’s critically acclaimed classic, “A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE”, will be held at PACE on Sunday, November 7th and Monday, November 8th, at 6:30 pm on both nights.
Chanticleer productions are open auditions and ethnic diversity is encouraged. Production dates are the weekends of January 7, through January 16th, 2022.
PACE (Pottawattamie Arts Culture and Entertainment) is located in the Hoff Family Arts and Culture Center,
1001 South 6th Street, in Council Bluffs, Iowa 51501.
The script calls for 1 teenaged boy, 4 adult men (ages 25 to 45) and 4 adult women (ages 25 to 45)
This renowned drama follows troubled former school teacher, Blanche DuBois, as she
leaves small-town Mississippi and moves in with her sister, Stella and Stella’s husband, Stanley in New Orleans. Blanche's flirtatious Southern-belle presence causes problems for Stella and Stanley, who already have a volatile relationship, leading to even greater conflict in the Kowalski household. Cold readings will be taken directly from the script.
Auditionees should access the main PACE doors located on 6th avenue, then take the elevator to the 3rd floor. Auditions will be held in Room 353. The play will be directed by Michele Phillips.
Curtain times on Friday and Saturday nights are at 7:30 p.m. and the Sunday performance time is 2:00 p.m.
